About Michael

Michael hails from Loughrea Co. Galway and has been involved in music from a very young age. Starting with the button accordion, Michael progressed to the acoustic and bass guitars. He is also an accomplished vocalist.

From the late 70's Michael has performed in many local venues, both as a solo artist and with local musicians. His musical career has blossomed throughout the Western counties. As well as running a successful auctioneering business and financial services company Michael was elected to the Galway County Council in 1991 and became Lord Mayor of County Galway 2011-2012. Michael has also involved himself in many community projects and fund-raising activities over the years.

Following his very successful career in politics, Michael decided to return to his first love, music. Over the past two years, Michael has toured extensively, and to great acclaim, in the United States. On his travels many people have requested his favourite song from his extensive repertoire.

With so many requests Michael was forced to choose an eclectic mix of both ballad and country numbers for his CD.
